As the title suggests, the piece is an exploration of the number zero and the powerful metaphors that spring from it. The essential quality of zero opens up fundamental questions of creation and existence, religion and space, time and matter. Once again, the troupe works with simple, everyday objects to find a way into the complex. Lengths of rope, old-school folding rulers, hula-hoops, and lemons are used to ask questions about the Big Bang, Santa Claus, and the impossibility of dividing by zero.
The Zero Project is currently in re-development, scheduled for a full-scale production in the Fall of 2010, with several intervening showings.
